                                                             Local Rothwell Residents Unhappy About
                                                             Council’s Land Sale
                                                                        A 9.2 hectare lot on Morris Road in Rothwell has been
                                                                        sold by the Moreton Bay Regional Council to well
                                                                        known developer, Stockland, despite a community
                                                                        petition gathering four hundred signatures against
                                                             the sale. Originally, the land was earmarked as a recreational space
                                                             for residents of the Community to enjoy and understandably
                                                             many were left frustrated and even angry when news of the sale
                                                             travelled. Council purchased the land from the State government
                                                             back in 2002 and it was put up for tender in May this year.
