Prima let their Freak Flag Fly in
       Shrek the Musical

Prima is bringing everyone’s favourite ogre back in dazzling
fashion in Shrek The Musical, playing at the Redcliffe Cultural
       Centre from 5-14 October.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation Film, Shrek
The Musical brings all the beloved characters you know from the
       film to life on stage.
The show is a major production for Prima, featuring a cast of 25
and 15-piece live orchestra. Not to mention the army of creative
and production team members working tirelessly behind the
scenes to make the magic happen.
With opening night only a few weeks away, the cast and crew
could not be more excited or prouder of how the show is
       coming together.
“This production is so unique and so much fun,” Production
       Manager, Wendy Bird, said.
“I grew up loving Shrek. I can remember playing the sound track
over and over again. And it’s the same for a lot of the cast. It’s like
       stepping into childhood make-believe.
“Being part of bringing it all to life has been pretty magical really.
All of your favourite characters are there, and it’s just as cheeky
and fun and heart warming as I remember. Maybe even more so
because it’s live and you get to feel part of it.
“It’s a show that has appeal for everyone, from the little ones
who might be meeting Shrek for the first time through to adults
who will appreciate the cheeky humour and fabulous music.”
       Wendy said.

                                                    Redevelopment

                                                     Project Update

Work on the Mill at Moreton Bay project is well underway following the official
commencement ceremony on July 4, 2018.
Earlier this year, the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) received Development Approval
for their foundation building and construction crews are now onsite busily conducting
                                     preliminary works for the building.
In addition to these works, tenders have been called for the upgrading of Gympie Road
between the North Pine River and the Queensland Rail corridor bridges to create a new
intersection for the main entry into The Mill redevelopment site. This roadwork will involve
widening and improvements to Gympie Road, a new entry for Wyllie Park and removal of the
existing Paper Avenue intersection. Access to the Petrie Station car park will be maintained to
                                     minimise any disruption to commuters.
In addition to the commencement of building work, major sewer pipe relocation works are
nearing completion with detailed planning being undertaken to ensure that there is no
disruption to essential services during construction. The bulk earthworks and filling to Stage
One of the precinct continues within the area known as Mill Central. These filling works will
continue until the end of 2018.
Council continues to work closely with field-leading koala monitoring experts to deliver a
comprehensive environmental plan for the site. Real-time monitoring and tracking for koalas
is ongoing, including vital health checks.
Weed removal to assist natural regeneration is ongoing across the site, and sequential removal
of larger weeds has commenced followed by supplementary planting of koala habitat
trees. Council also continues its weed and bushfire management program with contractors
removing weed trees along the haul road. Mulch has also been introduced to assist with
managing weed seed and erosion on site. Various weeds have been removed including
Lantana, Cats Claw creeper, Balsam Pear, Easter Cassia, Camphor Laurel and Chinese Elm.
