Dickson Seniors Expo – Save the Date

One of my initiatives as the local Federal Member is to host the
Dickson Seniors Expo providing opportunities for seniors in the local
community to access information, activities and services available.
Now the expo is celebrating its 15th anniversary and it will be held on
Thursday 30th and 31st August.
Aside from over 60 stallholders participating, entertainment by Rob
Rosenlund and a special guest speaker Gerrard Gosens OAM have
been secured. In addition there will be other informative speakers,
fashion parades and even a chance to win a range of lucky door prizes.
I am proud to announce that we have over sixty businesses and not-
for-profit organisations participating. Entry is free for seniors in the
local community and a free shuttle bus will be provided every half
hour from the Strathpine Shopping Centre bus stop area.

National Health and Medical Industry Growth Plan

This year’s Budget delivered a new $1.3 billion National Health and
Medical Industry Growth Plan that will transform and save lives
through world leading medical developments. This new initiative will
also create tens of thousands of new jobs in this industry creating
endless opportunities now and into the future.
In addition there is $500 million for the Genomics Health Futures
Mission which will help Australians live longer and personalise
medical treatment to their specific needs.

Handy resources available at my Office

Available at my Electorate Office in Strathpine are a number of handy
information guides and other resources. These include shopping lists,
seniors guides which contain information about services available to
seniors in our community and children’s resources.
The children’s resources are designed to help your youngsters
with schoolwork and their responsibilities around home. There are
multiplication, alphabet and chores charts available. All resources are
free and I hope that you drop by to pick up yours soon.
