Build a Better Bridge at Youngs Crossing
Youngs Crossing is a major problem for residents and commuters. After even a moderate rain event or
when the dam is released, the crossing is closed creating chaos in our local road network. Youngs Crossing
does not pass the standards for a major arterial road.
With Petrie University opening in just over 12 months, upgrading Youngs Crossing is now an urgent matter.
I am fighting to make this a priority for the State Labor Government and Mayor Sutherland.
The Council and State Government must agree to simply upgrade the bridge and build it up out of the
creek bed! This simple solution uses the existing road and retains our wildlife corridors.
