Road/Drainage Construction Works -


           Mount Samson Road, Samsonvale

       Project Scope
       Council are undertaking urgent road and drainage works along Mount Samson Road,
       Samsonvale. The nature of these works has resulted in Mount Samson Road being closed to all
       vehicular traffic with detours in place.
       The scope of works will include:
       •   Bulk earthworks
       •   Stormwater drainage installation
       •   Gravel pavement construction
       •   Asphalt surfacing
       •   Project Timeline
       Construction works will commence Monday 29 October 2018, works are expected to be
       complete by 14 December 2018, weather permitting. Current traffic detours will remain in place
       while these works are undertaken.
       Project Progress
       Updates on this project will be provided each Monday and Thursday for the duration of these
       works.
       Traffic Conditions/Impacts
       Currently Mount Samson Road is closed to all traffic from Kriesch Road to Hipathites Road.
       Vehicle access has been provided to residents of the closed section of road.
       Traffic management controls are in place for this closure. Variable message boards have been
       established in relevant areas to advise drivers and effectively manage traffic flow to this area.
       Detours are in place for traffic travelling in both directions between Samford and Dayboro.
       Detour Route 1 - Kriesch Road - Hipathites Road, Samsonvale (load Limit less than 30t
       GVM)
       •   This route is load limited to vehicles with a GVM less than 30 tonne (school buses are exempt
          from this restriction). Heavy vehicles seek alternate route, refer Route 2 & 3.
       •   Speed limits have been reduced along Kriesch and Hipathites Roads while the detour is in
          place.
       Detour Route 2 - Winn Road to Youngs Crossing Road (Heavy Vehicles greater than 30
       tonne GVM)
       •   Heavy vehicles can travel between Samford and Dayboro via Winn Road, Samsonvale Road
          and Youngs Crossing Road.
       •   No load restrictions apply to this route.
       Detour Route 3 - Eatons Crossing Road to Youngs Crossing Road (Heavy Vehicles greater
       than 30 tonne GVM)
       •   Heavy vehicles can travel between Samford and Dayboro via Eatons Crossing Road, Lilley
          Road, Ira Buckby Road and Youngs Crossing Road.
       •   No load restrictions apply to this route.
